Firearms Homicide in the Workplace

  1. Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Department of Labor

    Every August the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases its National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries for the previous year. This report includes job-related homicides by weapon. Call (202) 606-6175 or visit the BLS web site located at http://www.bls.gov/oshhome.htm.

  2. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health

    The service number for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is 1-800-35-NIOSH. Callers can obtain NIOSH information about violence in the workplace through voice-mail, or have it sent by fax 24 hours a day. Callers can speak to information specialists from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST. NIOSH is a federal agency that is part of the Department of Health and Human Services. It conducts research and makes recommendations for preventing work-related illnesses and injuries. The NIOSH web site is located at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/homepage.html.

  3. National Victim Center

    The National Victim Center has useful free fact sheets on violence in the workplace. Call them at: 1-800-FYI-CALL (394-2255)
