Who Dies? A Look at Firearms Death and Injury in AmericaRevised Edition

Preface

This edition of Who Dies? A Look at Firearms Death and Injury in America offers an updated demographic breakdown of the latest trends in firearm-related death and injury in the United States. The study also includes information on the staggering economic burden of firearms violenceespecially on trauma care centers that treat its victims. A new section this year examines firearm death rates at the state level. Finally, the appendices provide historical data on firearm death rates, figures on the number and value of firearms produced in the United States, and a primer on the true meaning of the Second Amendment.

As another new feature in this years version, each section of the study is now preceded by bullet points highlighting several of its most significant statistics. Readers can find more detailed information about the sources for each statistic in the text and endnotes of the accompanying section.

Who Dies? is designed to be used by organizations, the press, policymakers, and the general public for user-friendly access to the most pertinent and recent statistical data about gun violence in America.
