To educate the public and policymakers about the unique role
firearms play in domestic violence, each year the VPC releases When Men Murder
Women, which details state-by-state the circumstances of all reported homicides
of women by men in single victim-single offender incidents. Released each year
during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the studies are used by state and local
activists to educate the public on the realities of domestic violence, as well
as effective solutions to protect women and children from batterers. |
