The House leadership plans to take up gun control legislation as soon as Thursday, June 17. The base bill, introduced by Reps. Henry Hyde (R-IL) and Bill McCollum (R-FL), is far weaker than the proposals passed by the Senate last month, and does nothing to regulate the gun industry itself.
